Jakarta, IO – Satay (grilled skewered meat), a popular dish in Indonesia makes it to the list of the most popular foods in the world according to the World of Statistics. It ranks 53rd out of 55.
World of Statistics shared the list through its X account. Apart from satay, various foods from around the world from pizza to sushi are also in the list, per Okezone, Friday (25/8).
Satay, usually served with a distinctive grilling technique, is very easy to find in many parts of Indonesia. The variants have distinct taste depending on where they come from. One of the popular ones is Madura satay which is made from chicken or lamb.

The meat is cut into small pieces and skewered on bamboo sticks and then grilled while being fanned. It tastes even more delicious with the savory and sweet peanut sauce.
