Jakarta, IO – PT. Mulia Knitting Factory, with its legendary Rider Underwear products, has focused on its production of underwear in Indonesia since 1955. For 68 years, the company has maintained material quality and innovated under the leadership of Hanan Supangkat, the fourth generation after Henry Supangkat, Max Mulyadi Supangkat and the founder of PT. Mulia Knitting Factory, Phan Tjen Kong.

Through Rider’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, Rider Peduli (Rider Care), the company collaborated with the Indonesian Army Manunggal Air-PAL Kostrad in building a clean water source in Kepel Village, Ngetos District, Nganjuk Regency, East Java Province. The clean water is distributed to residents using a Gravity Technology System, in which water from Mount Puncul is directly supplied to residential areas using pipes reaching two kilometers. The clean water source is hoped to meet all needs of 130 families or around 500 people.

The program was initiated when the Army’s PAL Kostrad invited Rider to assist in providing clean water, after local residents reported to the village leadership NCO about the drought and their water shortage problem. Through its Manunggal Air program, the Indonesian Army was committed to partnering with Rider, to carry out clean water programs in two more regions: Pasir Muncang Village in West Java and Rancamaya Village in Central Java.

Rider’s CSR program through Rider Peduli has successfully run several programs, such as constructing a bridge in Brebes, mass circumcision in Karawang and others. However, due to the severe impact of the recent drought in many regions in Indonesia, many locals are experiencing drought and a clean water crisis. Thus, Rider fully supported the Army’s Manunggal Air-PAL Kostrad program. The clean water sources were inaugurated by Kodim 0801/ Nganjuk Commander Lt. Col. Arm Andi Sasmito.

The Rider Peduli clean water program is expected to help the residents obtain clean water for their daily activities, drinking, ablution and others. Clean water is also a vital component in preventing stunting or growth disorders in children resulting from a lack of nutritional intake. (des)
