Jakarta, IO – President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo conferred the Bintang Jasa Pratama medal to FIFA president Gianni Vincenzo Infantino at the State Palace, Friday (10/11). Infantino said he felt honored to receive this award, per Setkab.go.id, Monday (13/11).
He said the award was not only a source of pride for him, but also for FIFA and all people in world football. Infantino also appreciated Indonesia as a football-loving country.
“I certainly share the feeling (of receiving the award) with the entire football community throughout the world, football teams throughout the world, sports teams,” he said.

Afterwards, President Jokowi also inaugurated the permanent FIFA Asia office at Menara Mandiri 2, Jakarta.
“FIFA’s decision to build a permanent Asia office in Jakarta proves that Indonesia has enormous potential to develop and advance Indonesian football at the global level,” said Jokowi. (un)
