Jakarta, IO – A number of online shop sellers offer their merchandise via live broadcast on the TikTok Shop application in Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta (24/3).
During the fasting month of Ramadan, they use live broadcasts to attract potential customers looking to buy clothes online. Every day they intensively broadcast live for hours at home, from the afternoon until dawn.
“You can check the yellow basket. The goods are ready stock. Want display case number 2? Yes,” the pants seller greeted the viewers cheerfully on TikTok.

According to the sellers, the month of Ramadan is a “harvest season” or momentum for them to sell clothes in large quantities. Therefore, traders do everything they can to attract buyers, including by selling live.
Fikri, 31, one of the sellers, said she has started doing live broadcasted since the beginning of the Ramadan. According to her, the demand usually peaks a few days before Eid.
