Jakarta, IO – Unlike the typical markets housed in large buildings with rows of stalls or marketplaces with lined-up stalls, the Cideng Market is quite unique as it offers a different experience.

Here, you’ll experience shopping with cars set up as stalls for selling space. As it is named, the Cideng Tasik Market is located on East Cideng Street, precisely in the area of South Petojo, Gambir District, Central Jakarta.

A sea of vendor cars, especially those selling items like Muslim dresses and various other fashion products, can be found in an empty lot in Taman Jati Baru.

Located not far from Tanah Abang Market and offering similar goods, this market emerges as a competitor, especially because the items are cheaper, especially in large quantities.

The Tasik Cideng Market has been operating since 2018. Tasik Market sellers are previously from Tasik Bongkaran Market. The name Tasik Market originates from the Tasikmalaya convection entrepreneurs and their embroidered Muslim fashion products, which are the flagship products of Tasikmalaya.

They use cars as stalls because they could not get any stalls in Tanah Abang Market. However, the Tasik Market existed much before that. Since the early 2000s, numerous Tasik Market sellers used cars as stalls.

The Tasik Cideng Market now attracts traders not only from Tasikmalaya but also from other locations. The Tasik Cideng Market is only open on Mondays and Thursdays from 4 a.m. to 11 a.m.

They only sell on these two days because, at other times, they sell elsewhere. Many of the traders are from outside the city, especially from the West Java region.

So, if you’re curious, park your car at the site around 5 a.m. and save money for your Eid shopping needs before they return to their homes!
