Jakarta, IO – President Joko Widodo handed out a total of more than Rp320.5 billion in bonuses to athletes competing in the 2023 ASEAN Para Games.
Jokowi stated that the government had prepared the budget for those who made the nation proud in the international sporting stage.
“The nominal value is Rp525 million for gold medalist, Rp315 million for silver medalist and Rp157.5 million for bronze medalist,” he said.
Jokowi told them to use the bonus money as investment. “I want to give a little message, really take advantage of this bonus to keep practicing and making achievements. Don’t buy luxury goods,” he advised.

“This is not small money, let alone those who get a lot of medals like those I saw in front of me earlier. This means that this bonus really needs to be invested properly.”
