Jakarta, IO – President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo laid the first stone for the construction of the Central General Hospital (RSUP) in the Nusantara Capital City (IKN), Penajam Paser, East Kalimantan, Wednesday (20/12).

“Today we are breaking ground again for the Central General Hospital which will be built by the government,” said Jokowi, per Republika.

This is the fourth hospital to be built at IKN after private hospitals Hermina Hospital, Abdi Waluyo Hospital and Mayapada Hospital. Jokowi said there were three more private hospitals that will break ground soon.

Jokowi hopes that when the construction of all the hospitals is completed, people will no longer need to seek treatment abroad to Malaysia, Singapore, Japan or America. Jokowi wants quality healthcare services to be provided in Indonesia.

Jokowi said that the health services built at IKN would really support the process of recovery because they are built with a green concept to offer peace of mind for people seeking treatment.

“Indeed, the Central General Hospital will specialize in heart and stroke. But if we look at the greenery here, there is a lot of oxygen, the mind should be happy, the stroke will go away in my opinion, the heart disease will also go away because the atmosphere here is so green,” he commented.

Jokowi also emphasized that IKN development must be carried out with the concept of green buildings and green areas. Therefore, during his visit today, Jokowi will also plant endemic trees.

“Today we will also carry out reforestation by planting of endemic trees, once again so that the area in IKN becomes a very green area so in no other country can a capital city be as green as in Nusantara,” said Jokowi. (at)
