Jakarta, IO – Hundreds of participants in Jakarta free exodus program gathered at the National Monument (Monas) square, Thursday (4/4).
Organized by the Jakarta Provincial Administration, the annual program aims to assists thousands of Jakarta residents who wish to celebrate Eid al-Fitr (Lebaran) with their families at their respective hometowns. When registration opened on March 20, the public’s enthusiasm was so high that the 12,160 quota was taken in a matter of hours.

Participants will be transported using 279 buses to 19 regencies/municipalities in Java and Sumatra, including Bandar Lampung, Palembang, Yogyakarta and Kediri. The free exodus program does not only help the passengers to save on transportation costs but also aims to reduce the number of accidents during the exodus season by providing safe and comfortable mode of transportation.
