Jakarta, IO – The Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railways (KCJB) is confirmed to start full operation in October. However, PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) spokesperson Emir Monti said the bullet trains will start operation “on a limited basis” beginning in mid-August.

“So, August and September will be like the introductory period and full operation will begin in October,” said Emir, per Detik, Thursday (14/6).

Emir explained that KCJB will make a stop in four stations — Halim, Karawang, Padalarang and Tegalluar. He also mentioned that lower fare may apply during the soft-opening period. But the details will still need to be further discussed.

KCIC Business Development General Manager Devin Pranata hinted that the fare would not be too far off compared to the conventional Argo Parahyangan train.

“We don’t want it to be burdensome for the passengers. There will only be slight differences (between the two),” said Devin.

According to information on state railway company PT KAI’s website, the current fare for economy class Argo Parahyangan is Rp150,000, while for executive class it costs between Rp200,000 to Rp500,000. (un)
