Bekasi, IO – The Indonesian U-17 men’s football team was narrowly defeated 0-1 by South Korea in a trial match at the Patriot Candrabhaga Stadium, Bekasi, Wednesday (30/8).

Since the kick-off, South Korea immediately pressed forward with high pace. The Korean players demonstrated tight pressing which made it difficult for the young Garuda to control the ball.

The South Korean front line managed to get a number of opportunities, but the Indonesian squad was able to block many goal-scoring attempts by Kim Myeongjun and his team mates.

Entering the 30th minute, Indonesia started get out of the pressure. Young Garuda got at least two opportunities through Kafiatur Rizky and Aulia Rahman. However, they still did not translate into goals. The first half ended with 0-0.

Entering the second half, both teams started to play more aggresively. The Indonesian team even managed to pose serious threats to South Korea’s defense several times. But Baek Ga-on managed to score a goal in the 66th minute.
