Jakarta, IO – Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) said he has been entrusted with three main tasks as the Agrarian and Spatial Planning (ATR) minister/head of the National Land Agency (BPN), after his inauguration on Wednesday (21/2).
He vowed to continue his predecessor’s efforts to build a capable, credible and sustainable system of electronic certification and eradicate ‘land mafia’ (organized crime syndicates that use various illegal means, including document falsification, intimidation and bribery, to take ownership of a property from someone), per Antaranews, Thu (22/2).
He said electronic land certificates will address a number of problems, including land disputes. Land redistribution will also provide a sense of justice, progress and prosperity.
“The president also instructed me to ensure that carbon trading will be even more successful,” he said.
AHY said he will work hard to meet the target of 120 million land area for the Complete Systematic Land Registration (PTSL) program. He wants the ministry he is leading to prioritize social justice.

“We will work according to the spirit and motto of the ministry, professionalism and trustworthiness, and plays a fundamental role in boosting economic growth,” he said.
AHY was appointed by President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo to replace Hadi Tjahjanto, who is moved to a new position as the coordinating political, legal and security affairs minister. The latter replaced Mahfud MD, who resigned during the presidential campaign after he was nominated as a vice presidential candidate. (un)
