Govt confirms no Indonesian citizens killed or hurt at Bangkok shooting

Jakarta, IO – The shooting happened at the upscale Siam Paragon Mall in downtown Bangkok, Thailand.

Foreign Ministry (Kemlu) said that the Thai police had arrested the shooter, per Sindonews, Thursday (4/10).

“The Royal Thai Police succeeded in disarming and detaining the perpetrator. From information from various sources, three people died and five others injured. There is no information about any Indonesian victims,” ​​wrote Kemlu in an official statement.

The shooting took place at around 4.20pm local time. The 14-year-old male gunman has been arrested.

Thailand Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin through his X account expressed his concern and ordered the police to take swift action. “I am aware of the shooting incident at Siam Paragon and have ordered the police to investigate. I am most concerned about public safety,” he said. (un)
