Jakarta, IO – Coldplay concert promoter in Jakarta will start installing sound system for the stage on November 6 at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (GBK).
The British pop-rock band’s concert will be held for the first time in Indonesia on November 15.
“The promoter has obtained the permit and will start preparing the installation of the stage, sound system, two weeks before the concert. On November 6, preparations will start at the venue,” said Head of GBK business development director Didik Susantoro, per Republika, Thursday (2/11).
Regarding other preparations for the Coldplay concert themed “Music of The Sphere World Tour”, Bangun confirmed that 3,000 seats were removed at the request of the promoter.
“So the promoter asked for several benches to be removed for evacuation routes. It’s true that 3,000 were removed, but later they will be reinstalled,” said Bangun.
The positions of the chairs that were removed were right behind the stage, precisely at the South Gate. Apart from that, all the grass up to the jogging track will have grass cover imported directly from England.

He ensured that the grass at GBK remained safe, even though it would later be used for Coldplay concerts.
“God willing, it won’t be damaged, it’s safe. The venue will be ready. We will just follow the promoter’s directions, so the Coldplay concert can take place smoothly,” he said. The capacity of the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium is 78,000 seats. The promoter has sold 70,000 tickets with a price range ranging from Rp800,000 to Rp11 million. (at)
