Drunk Indonesian passenger forces Turkish Airlines to make emergency landing in Medan

Jakarta, IO – A drunk Indonesian citizen named Muhammad John Jaiz Boudewijn who created ruckus aboard Turkish Airlines Flight TK56 en route from Turkey to Jakarta route forced the airline to make an emergency landing at Kualanamu Airport, Medan.

Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (SHIA) Police chief Sigit Dani Setiyono said the man was also seen in a footage circulating on social media attacking the cabin crew who tried to calm him down.

“The plane was supposed to arrive at 21.05 WIB but delayed to 22.05 WIB. Turkish Airlines staff at SHIA informed that the delay was caused by a drunk Indonesian passenger,” said Jakarta Police spokesperson Chief Commissioner Endra Zulpan, as reported by Detik on Wednesday (12/10).

The plane continued its journey to SHIA after the man was forced to disembark. (rr)
