Radit’s sister was allegedly raped by four of her colleagues during an out-of-town activity. At that time, it was alleged that she was forced to drink alcohol before being raped.
In response, the Cooperatives and SMEs Minister Teten Masduki said he has formed an independent fact-finding team and ordered them to complete the investigation within a month.
“Another task is to formulate an internal Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for handling sexual crimes. We want to use this momentum for internal improvements,” said Teten.
“The Cooperatives and SMEs Ministry will not tolerate sexual violence. If it is deemed that justice has yet been done, we will immediately follow up,” he said.

The ministry, said Teten, is ready to provide any information requested and coordinate intensively with the investigation team. It will also provide protection to the victim’s family to prevent any intimidation.
“Because it is now handled by an independent team, it is no longer an internal matter,” he said. (rr)
