Jakarta, IO – Central Java Police Chief Insp. Gen. Ahmad Luthfi issued a decree prohibiting the use of noisy exhausts for motocycles during the public rally ahead of the 2024 elections, per detikcom, Fri (5/1).

The police have taken steps to socialize the ban in a structured and massive fashion, including through outreach and warnings to users or workshops that produce and distribute such type of exhaust.

“We will carry out massive and structured activities before the implementation (of public rally) on the 21st. Once we enter the public rally period, we face the masses, of course there will be potential for frictions and conflict in these crowd-pulling activities, therefore before the campaign period we carry out pre-emptive and enforcement efforts,” he said.
