BNPT detects 600 social media accounts with radical content

Jakarta, IO – The National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) chief Commissioner General Boy Rafli Amar revealed that they agency has found 600 social media accounts spreading more than 900 propaganda content, reported Inews on Wednesday (28/12).

He said Facebook became the number one platform to spread radical content followed by WhatsApp, Telegram, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.

To tackle the threat posed by terrorism, BNPT has conducted cyber patrols to delete accounts spreading radical contents.

“With regard to the threat of terrorism in cyberspace, BNPT together with relevant ministries/agencies have carried out prevention efforts through cyber patrols, takedowns and law enforcement,” he said. (un)
