Jakarta, IO – This bilateral cooperation includes capacity building through training, research, development, as well as energy efficiency and conservation.
In the Sweden-Indonesia Sustainability Partnership (SISP), state electricity company PLN and Business Sweden signed an MoU on renewable energy development at Langham, Jakarta, Tuesday (6/12). The cooperation aims to tackle environmental challenges such as pollution and high dependence on fossil energy.
“Indonesia and Sweden have high ambitions regarding sustainability; therefore, I am sure that we can tackle the challenges of sustainability together by leveraging the four main pillars – innovation, policy, finance and collaboration,” said Business Sweden CEO Jan Larson.
Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry secretary general Rida Mulyana said the collaboration signifies a further step between the two countries in coming up with technological and policy solutions to support the 2030 global emission reduction agenda.

“I hope that the cooperation between Indonesia and Sweden will strengthen the bilateral partnership to create renewable energy and achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development,” said Rida.
“Indonesia has had the road map while Sweden has the technological, policy and financial capacities.” (bp)
