Welcomed by thousands of volunteers, Prabowo opens “healthy walking” event

IO, Jakarta – On Saturday morning (02/02/2019), thousands of volunteers from Roemah Djoeang Prabowo-Sandi participated in a “healthy walk” around Monas (the National Monument), Central Jakarta. The event began at 6:30 a.m. with a start from Irti Monas, Jl. Medan Merdeka Selatan, Central Jakarta, moving towards Lapangan Banteng, Central Jakarta. Prabowo appeared wearing a white shirt proclaiming “Roemah Djoeang Prabowo-Sandi”, matching that of the participants.

Other august figures taking part included DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, Titiek Soeharto, Deputy Chairperson of the Indonesian Parliament Fadli Zon and Pius Lustrilanang.

Before starting the walk, Prabowo greeted the participants, who looked enthusiastic. Not only greeting thousands of participants, this number 02 presidential candidate also said that he could not deliver any speech because of regulations curbed campaigning.

Nevertheless, the enthusiasm of thousands of participants was not dampened; instead, they enthusiastically shouted and showed great passion as a form of support.

Prabowo, wearing a khaki field cap, also offered his hat to the volunteers. Prabowo said that the hat is an original product made in Bandung.

“How is it, my hat is good or not? It’s made in Indonesia, made by Bandung people. I’m very proud because our people made such a good product,” Prabowo said, and was applauded by thousands of volunteers.

Thousands of volunteers who crowded the field at Lapangan Banteng asked Prabowo to throw his hat to them.

“If I throw it, I am afraid that it will be torn apart. It seems to me that the mothers have extraordinary strong hands. It’s very hard to let my hand loose when I gave it to them; is it because of enthusiasm or what?@ said Prabowo.

Prabowo finally asked the oldest volunteers among the thousands of volunteers to receive his hat. “I give this hat to Mr. Amir, from Cempaka Putih. He gets the prize. He represents all of you volunteers,” Prabowo said, applauded by the volunteers.

The sound of the siren which was sounded by Prabowo Subianto became a sign that a healthy walk was to commence. “Bismillahirrahmaanirrahim, with this we will start the healthy walk – let’s go”, said Prabowo.

The healthy walk, which was organized by the volunteers of Roemah Djoeang, was also supported by the Garuda Yaksa Chakra Marching Band, and was accompanied by thousands of volunteers walking from Irti Monas to Lapangan Banteng, Central Jakarta.
