Jakarta, IO – State railway company PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) released the number of victims in the collision between the Greater Bandung Train and Turangga Train in Cicalengka, Bandung regency on Friday (5/1).
KAI operational region 2 spokesperson Ayep Hanapi said four people were killed and more than 30 people were injured. The deceased were all PT KAI’s employees, per detikcom, Sat (6/1).
They are Julian Dwi Setiyono, 28, train driver; Ponisam, 47, train driver; and Ardiansyah and Enjang Yudi. The bodies of the last two are still being evacuated.

Meanwhile, the injured are being treated at a number of hospitals, including Cicalengka Regional Hospital, Sentosa Hospital, AMC Hospital and Edelweiss Hospital.
The Turangga train plies the Surabaya Gubeng-Bandung route while the Bandung Raya train serves the Padalarang-Cicalengka route. They were involved in a head-on collision at around 6am WIB. (un)
