“Every child experiences psychological trauma in a different way. I read a lot of literature that working with dogs, the four-legged rehabilitators, helps children reduce stress, increase stress resistance and reduce anxiety,” said Oksana.
According to Oksana, each child shows different effects of trauma. Some children, for example, are petrifies when they hear loud noises such as when someone closes a window or the sound of a jet, while some will easily panic and immediately seek a hiding place.

The center was established in 2000 as part of an effort to provide psychological support to people affected, either directly or indirectly, by the Chernobyl nuclear power plant disaster in 1986. However, it is currently used to treat people affected by the war. (bp)
