Jakarta, IO – The year 2024 has a distinctive meaning for Prambanan Jazz Festival (PJF) lovers. Following nine years of exquisite performances, the 2024 PJF will soon celebrate a decade of outstanding jazz festivals. 

The blend of extraordinary music, artistic expression, and Prambanan Temple’s rich history promises a memorable experience throughout the festival’s three days and nights. A parade of musicians is parading and playing an “ode”, celebrating the warm ambiance of Jogja and savoring traditional culinary delights before the Prambanan’s magical silhouette. A vibrant celebration for the Jazz Festival’s 10th anniversary. 

The Prambanan Jazz Festival as Indonesian Cultural Diplomacy 

Promoting tourism does not only lie in the hands of the government; it also falls on the shoulders of society. The Prambanan Jazz Festival is committed to actively promoting tourism and preserving the nation’s arts and culture. Inviting international musicians to Prambanan Temple is expected to foster positive impacts in various sectors, spanning from local micro-businesses to Yogyakarta’s broader scope of businesses. 

A number of international musicians have appeared or are to perform at the annual PJFs: Kenny G in 2015; Rick Price and Boyz II Men in 2016; Sarah Brightman, Shakatak and Shane Filan in 2017; Diana Krall and Boyzone in 2018; Yanni, Brian Mcknight, Anggun C Sasmi, Calum Scott and Alex Mercado in 2019; Gipsy Kings, Lucky Chops, Gemini, Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox, Seafret, Lukas Graham, Vertical Horizon, Bond, Faouzia, Conor Maynard, Tunde (vocalist of Lighthouse Family) and Eric Benet in 2023.

Who might enliven the 2024 Prambanan Jazz Festival? Next year’s PJF will be a decade anniversary, which will be celebrated and much-anticipated by jazz enthusiasts. Rest assured, the PJF’s lineup will soon be announced. 

PJF fans will be able to enjoy the magnifcent three-day musical extravaganza at Prambanan Temple from July 5th to July 7th, 2024.
