Thai Lion Air battles pandemic headwinds

IO, THAILAND – June 19, 2020. Thai Lion Air (flight code SL), a member of Lion Air Group, provided updated information that starting today (19/06) they offer improved operational and domestic flight services, following resumption of operations on Friday (01/05). 

Thai Lion Air previously flew daily to six domestic destinations, to Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Surat Thani, Ubon Ratchani, Nakon Si Thammarat and Hat Yai.

Chairman of the Board of Thai Lion Air, Capt. Darsito Hendro Seputro, said that Thai Lion Air operates flights according to the standard operating procedures (SOP) based on standing rules, which continue to prioritize aspects of flight safety, security, and comfort. 

Thai Lion Air applies health protocols based on the directions, the implementation of flights guided by the principles and standard operating procedures of health to ensure the level of security of the crew on duty and passengers, including: 

  1. Washing hands with soap or hand sanitizer, 
  2. Wearing a mask or face shield, 
  3. Maintaining hygiene while in the aircraft, 
  4. Keeping your distance when queuing in the security check-point (SCP) area, reporting (check-in), in the waiting room (boarding room), until boarding the aircraft, 
  5. Utilizing online-based self-report (mobile and self-check-in) 

Furthermore, according to Capt. Darsito, with the Thai Lion Air flight facility, each passenger gets free baggage allowance of 20 kg. Once airborne, Thai Lion Air provides no onboard sale of snacks, drinks or meals, and does not allow passenger to consume their own private foodstuffs once onboard and flying.
