Regarding the veracity of the video, Danang asserted that every flight operation with all types of aircrafts – Boeing 737-800NG, Boeing 737-900ER, Airbus 330-300CEO and Airbus 330-900NEO – have met safety, security and comfort standards as well as Covid-19 guidelines.

He added: “The entire implementation of Lion Air flights is based on national and international regulatory standards, provisions set by aircraft manufacturers, as well as internal rules. A series of standard operating procedures (SOPs) are adhered to ensure normal and smooth flight operations, and that every aircraft is airworthy and well-prepared before every flight,” he said.

He said in the incident the pilot has followed standard procedures. The pilot became aware that there was engine problem when the plane was cruising at 3,000 feet. He then decided that it was necessary to return to the airport of origin and managed to land it safely. The passengers also disembarked normally and were escorted to the waiting room to get more information.
