Jakarta, IO – Lion Air JT-330 plane from Jakarta to Palembang suffered an engine fire shortly after taking off on Wednesday (26/10). Images circulating on social media showed its left engine in flame mid-air. The plane was forced to turn back to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
Lion Air Group Corporate Communications Strategic Director Danang Mandala Prihantoro said the airline has reported two Instagram handles @lelahmiskinproject and @ramdanalamsyah.id to the police regarding the distribution of footages deemed negative, biased, defamatory, agitating, and detrimental to the company’s image, reported Kompas on Tuesday (1/11).
“Lion Air has studied the videos in question and has reported it to the authorities,” said Danang, adding that the step was taken to determine what legal action the company will take going forward.
“This is effort by Lion Air to understand the nature of the negative content and strengthen the movement against the spread of negative content in cyberspace,” he said.
