Jakarta, IO – Before and after scene of campaign props removal in Jakarta (12/2). A number of campaign props, including banners and billboards, have been taken down from Jalan H.R Rasuna Said to the overhead pedestrian crossing on K.H Mas Masyur Street.
Arifin, head of Jakarta Public Order Police (Satpol PP), explained that this measure was taken in accordance with Law 7/2017 on General Elections and General Elections Commission (KPU) Regulation 15/2023. The election cool-off period, which runs from February 11-13 is momentum for removing campaign props to create a calm atmosphere ahead of the polling day. It will provide an opportunity for the public to reflect on their choices without the visual distraction of campaign props.

Jakarta Provincial Government has set a deadline of Sunday, February 11, at 00.00, for election participants to proactively remove their campaign props. It has also actively coordinated with the campaign teams, legislative candidates and regional representative candidates to comply with the regulation.
