On this occasion, Jokowi also mentioned that digital advancement has made global challenges more complex. In addition, Jokowi said Asean members must be fully committed to efforts to eradicate transnational crimes.

“With today’s technological advancement, transnational crime has increased massively and become more complex. So the handling must also be adaptive,” said Jokowi, per Kompas, Monday (21/8).

He referred to a number of criminal acts such as terrorism, narcotics and human trafficking as cases that have become rampant and needed to be dealt with urgently.
