Jakarta, IO – Central Java Police Mobile Brigade Unit (Brimob) assisted by the Magelang Police bomb squad (Gegana) and personnel Borobudur Temple Conservation Center succeeded in defusing a bomb and freeing hostages at Borobudur Temple in a simulation, reported Antara, Wednesday (21/12).
Central Java Brimob deputy commander AKBP Arif Agung Winarto said the simulation aims to provide security during Christmas and New Year.
“The simulation follows a scenario where tourists are held hostage and a bomb is found,” said Arif.
He said the mock bomb needs to be detonated immediately at the scene because it was risky to move.
The same simulation was also carried out at Semarang railway station.
