Jakarta, IO – Police managed to find a firearm near the crime scene of the shooting of a Turkish national at Villa Palm House, Tumbak Bayuh village, Badung, Bali, Wednesday (31/1).
Bali Police chief Commissioner Pol Jansen Avitus Panjaitan said based on the results of the investigation, the Baikal Makarov pistol was discarded in the bushes near a cemetery.
“An 800mm Baykal Makarov pistol which was allegedly used to shoot the victim, was found near the crime scene,” he said, per Tribunnews, Thu (1/2).
To find the gun, police brought in the bomb squad (Gegana). “The search was carried out at around 7.30am WITA and was completed approximately at 11am,” he said. The gun is being examined at the police’s forensic laboratory.
The perp, Mexican national Sicairos Valdes Roberto, 27, was arrested in Nganjuk, East Java, after he was placed on police wanted list. He is being held at the Badung Police Station along with the three other suspects for further investigation.
“The fugitive was arrested at the Nganjuk bus terminal and was to flee to Surabaya,” he explained. (at)
