Jakarta, IO – Members of the Shen Lung Barongsai association practice ahead of the Chinese New Year in Jakarta. Lion and dragon dances are part of the customary performances to bring festive atmosphere during the festival.
Apart from refining the movements, the rehearsal aims to strengthen unity among members of the troupe. From the end of January to the end of February 2024, demand for the association’s lion dance and dragon lion dance performances reached its peak, showing high enthusiasm in the community.

This year the bookings have been double that of last year. For one performance, the association charges between Rp3 million to Rp10 million, depending on the package chosen and the type of performance requested.
