Police arrest Iranian citizen who smuggles 264-kg of meth in Banten

Jakarta, IO – Police nabbed an Iranian man identified as NB, 33, in Pandeglang, Banten. He was accused of smuggling 264.73 kilograms of liquid methamphetamine.

“This was the result of a joint operation between Bareskrim Directorate IV/Narcotics and Jambi Regional Police,” said Brig. Gen. Mukti Juharsa, the head of Bareskrim Directorate IV, reported Detik, Wednesday (10/5).

Mukti explained the arrest was conducted after the police was tipped of the plan by international drug network to smuggle liquid methamphetamine into Indonesia.

After intensive investigation, Mukti said the joint team confiscated the evidence at Tinjil Port, Pandeglang, Banten.

The team initially became suspicious of a ship at Tinjil Harbor. The ship was then raided and a number of drums containing liquid crystal methamphetamine were found. (un)
