BPK recommends that BI Governor instruct head of the Monetary Management Department (DPU) to prepare risk mitigation measures in anticipation.

BPK also concluded that the printing, issuance, and destruction of Rupiah banknotes in 2021 has been carried out in accordance with criteria, in all material respects.

Nevertheless, BPK assesses that there are still problems that need to be rectified concering weaknesses in internal control, including the risk of supply compliance and counterfeit money.

“Overall, the audit revealed 3 findings containing 6 problems, namely three internal control system (SPI) weaknesses, two non-compliance issues, and one 3E (economy, efficiency and effectiveness) issues amounting to Rp1.64 billion,” explained BPK. (rr)
