“Of the thousands of entries that have gone through the curation stage, 149 works have been selected by 53 photojournalists,” said Hidayat.

Furthermore, PFIJ will also recognize those who have been dedicated to capturing and informing the public of the many faces of Jakarta through the Privy x PFI Jakarta Megapolitan Award.

“This award will be given to two members of the Jakarta Photo Editor based on two categories, namely single photos and story photos,” said Hidayat.

Meanwhile, PFIJ chairman Hermann Zakharia said the theme was deliberately chosen because PFIJ photojournalist captured the events and reported it to the public in this dynamic and heterogeneous city that seems to never sleep, especially in reviving many things that were previously came to a standstill due to the pandemic.

“Through this photo exhibition, we as professional workers present rich visuals about this city with stories from every face, every soul of the capital city,” said Hermann. (rr)
