Jakarta, IO – Semarang-Demak toll road, part of the National Strategic Project (PSN), will be equipped with a “giant sea wall” inspired by Amsterdam, the Netherlands. This project is the largest in Indonesia and will serve as a pilot project for other seafront toll roads.

Coordinating Economic Minister Airlangga Hartarto said the construction of the giant sea wall would be carried out after the Semarang-Demak toll road is completed because several locations along the toll often experience storm surge and become inundated, per CNBC Indonesia, Monday (17/7).

Airlangga added that the toll road which also functions as an embankment and may be extended beyond Semarang, along the north coast of Java.
