Jakarta, IO – Thirty five Indonesian students took part in the 15th Sea Youth Athletics Championship 2023 in Pathum Thani, Thailand (9/12). They managed to bring home a total of 17 medals.
The results consisted of seven gold medals, four silver medals and six bronze medals. With this achievement, Indonesia grabbed the No 3 spot after Vietnam and Thailand, per detikcom, Mon (11/12).
Youth and Sports Ministry’s assistant deputy for sports development center Bayu Rahadian praised the students and their achievements that surpassed the target.
“The target was for four golds. In my opinion, this is an extraordinary achievement,” he said.

Manager of the Indonesian Athletics student team, Rumini, said that the athletes had prepared themselves thoroughly at the national level championships held in the last few years and those sent to Thailand were the best of the best.
The Indonesian delegation competed in 31 out of 37 sporting events. (un)
