Jakarta, IO – In the first leg match between Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, Jakarta, (12/10), the Indonesian men’s football team (Timnas) was off to a strong start with 6-0 win.
Indonesia managed to take a 2-0 lead in the first half and scored 4 additional goals in the second half. The goals were created by Dimas Drajad (3 goals), Ramadhan Sananta (2) and Rizky Ridho (1).
Playing before enthusiastic fans and the presence of President Joko Widodo, the players showed off their vastly improved skills under the tutelage of Korean-origin coach Shin Tae-yong.

This victory paved smoother road for Indonesia to quality for the 2026 World Cup. Timnas only needs a draw and not lose by a goal difference of more than six to advance to the second round, where they will face stronger teams such as Iraq, Vietnam and the Philippines.
