In addition, Kurniasih urged BPOM to strengthen cooperation with the marketplace to monitor the types of drugs sold. According to her, with easy access to the marketplace, consumers are at risk of taking drugs that are not prescribed.

“Illegal drugs are sold freely in the marketplace so ordinary people can easily buy them. This means that strict supervision is needed from the marketplace in collaboration with BPOM. Do not let our society be harmed because of lack of awareness,” he said.

“Illegal drugs or special drugs must have a bad side effects on their users. In order to protect public health, stricter supervision on online platforms must be carried out. BPOM should not lose sight of these syndicates. It can cooperate with the BSSN [National Cyber and Encryption Agency] or the Police Cyber Crime Division to speed up the supervision,” said Kurniasih.
