Jakarta, IO – The Health Ministry (Kemenkes) is preparing about 2,000 health service posts manned about 15,000 personnel ahead of the Christmas and New Year holiday.
Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said this is part of the precautionary measures to curb Covid-19 resurgence, per Media Indonesia, Sat (23/12).
“Covid-19 cases are on the rise, so we have to prepare ourselves,” said Budi. “The critical points are toll roads, train stations, airports, seaports, border checkpoints where there is massive movement of people.”
Budi hopes that the preparedness can be effective in responding to health problems, especially regarding the increase in Covid-19 cases which has now reached thousands per week.

“Actually, the caseload is still relatively low, but there has been quite a large increase in the last few weeks, so we have to increase vigilance, and this time the subvariant JN.1 is coming from abroad,” he explained.
As of Friday (22/12), confirmed Covid-19 new and active cases has reached 402 and 2,154, respectively. (un)
