Jakarta, IO – The owner of Twitter, Elon Musk, announced that he will change his social media logo from the iconic blue bird to “X”. The current logo has been in use since 2006.

Twitter’s logo itself has undergone three changes. In 2006, it was purchased from the iStock website for $15. The larry bird logo was created by Simon Oxley. In the logo, the bird, perching on a tree branch, appeared to have small white eye circles, per Kompas, Monday (24/7).

When the design was chosen, Oxley was not even aware of the existence of the Twitter company. However, that logo only lasted until 2009 when the company was not allowed to use iStock image.

Twitter’s co-founder Biz Stone then provided the initial designs for the first internal bird logo with the help of designer Philip Pascuzzo.

A year later, they created another version of the logo with the missing cartoon features. The logo was finally simplified in 2012 by former Twitter creative director Doug Bowman. (rr)
