Jakarta, IO – Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) will be renovated by the Public Works and Housing Ministry (PUPR) after it was named a candidate for the U-17 World Cup venue. The ministry estimated the project will be completed within three months.
PUPR spokesperson Endra Atmawidjadja said the planning stage has started on Tuesday (4/7). Aspects that would be addressed included the stadium’s pitch, access and parking lots, per CNNIndonesia, Thursday (6/7).
Upon the completion of the renovation, the stadium will be inspected by the Building Safety Committee (KKBG). Only then can the stadium be allowed to hold the international soccer tournament.

“JIS will be assessed by FIFA to determine its suitability for the U-17 World Cup venue,” said Endra. (un)
