The concept of Dynamic Equilibrium in regional diplomacy refers to efforts to create a dynamic balance between the forces involved, where no power dominates absolutely (Fan et al., 2022). In the context of Indonesia’s defense diplomacy, this concept describes efforts to maintain the stability of the ASEAN region through a balance of power, cooperation, and interdependence among countries. It also involves inviting major powers to participate in a cooperative framework to build an inclusive region. Thus, the Dynamic Equilibrium concept in regional diplomacy emphasizes the importance of balance, cooperation, and active participation of all parties to achieve stability and security in the region. 

This is the latest in a series of proposals for an end to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, characterized by an impending victory of the Azov forces over the “Special Military Operation” launched by the Russian Federation in early 2022. It was trumpeted in Davos, Switzerland on January 14, at the controversial World Economic Forum, a cabal of the world’s entitled wealthy and political operators. 

Recently the International Court of Justice, or ICJ, based in The Hague opened hearings on South Africa’s lawsuit against Israel which claims in a 84-page document that Israel has committed ‘genocidal acts’ against the Palestinian people. Israel has described South Africa’s allegations as being akin to ‘blood libel* while Washington said the case is “meritless, counterproductive and completely without any basis”. 

Today in Davos, Switzerland, the international consultations on key principles of peace for Ukraine took place. The consultations included in-person and online participation of national security and foreign policy advisors from 82 countries and international organizations. 

Geopolitics is seemingly influencing Russia’s approach to many issues ranging from its own approach in politics, its own economic design and cultural attitudes. But for it to lead the expected transformational multipolar arrangement, Russia has to open up and create pathways that portray cultural integration, intensify people-to-people interactions and organize more cultural activities with participation of ‘friendly countries’ desperately seeking alternatives to the United States-controlled “rules-based order” and prefer to be guided by their own interests and those of their partners especially this year and farther beyond.
