Indonesian musicians are increasingly competing for an opportunity to have their music acknowledged by audiences in other countries, by trying different strategies to attract the world’s attention. Our musicians have been attempting many ways, from broadcasting their works through foreign media to performing at music festivals abroad. 

The Sounds Project Vol. 6 Music Festival ran for the whole three days from August 11 to 13, 2023, at the Allianz Ecopark Ancol, North Jakarta, with numerous musicians rocking the stage. 

That’s right, folks! British rock band Neck Deep proudly announce their return, with a monumental tour that will take them through 7 cities in Southeast Asia, including Surabaya and Jakarta.

Richard Marx, one of the world’s music legends, is coming from the United States to hold “The Songwriter Tour” concert in Jakarta. The concert, promoted by Endless Live Entertainment and Go Live, is a chance for Indonesian music lovers, especially the 90s generation, to enjoy the extraordinary works of Marx.

For the first time in Indonesia to ever hold an original event for music lovers and wild attraction enthusiasts, Circus Concerto is a music concert presenting music, attraction and illusion at once, with Bunga Citra Lestari (BCL) as the main guest star. 

After a long wait, it can finally be officially announced that Jogjarockarta Festival will invite two rock giants from faraway lands: Sepultura from Brazil and Overkill from the United States. These two bands will headline the Jogjarockarta Festival, which will be held at the Kridosono Stadium on September 30, 2023.

Ketoprak Tari Retno Dumilah, a traditional Javanese musical play, was performed before their audience on Sunday, August 27, 2023, at Taman Ismail Marzuki Park, Central Jakarta. The play encapsulated the struggle of Ratna Dumilah to lead the troops to defend the Purabaya Duchy, now known as Madiun, from being invaded by Mataram under the leadership of Panembahan Senopati. 

Ronan Keating has once again performed in Indonesia, appearing on Friday, August 18, 2023. The Irish singer reunited with his fans at the Pullman Hotel, Central Park, West Jakarta. 

Gending Enem Studio together with the SMAN 6 Jakarta Alumni Association or commonly called Sixerhood and Yasma 6 (SMAN 6 Jakarta Alumni Foundation) initiated the Ketoprak Dance Retno Dumilah performance in commemoration of the 78th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia as a form of contribution in preservation of Indonesian culture, especially the culture of classical Javanese dance.

Jakarta should feel so lucky for having Mr. Big perform its ultimate farewell tour, “The Big Finish,” at the 90’s Festival event at Gambir Expo, Kemayoran, Jakarta, last Saturday, August 12, 2023.
