Jakarta, IO – The City of Bandung in West Java and Melbourne in Australia have agreed to collaborate as sister city or twin city in various fields. This cooperation plan has been approved by Bandung Legislative Council (DPRD), reported CNN Indonesia, Saturday (1/4).

The areas of cooperation include smart cities, economy and trade, human resource capacity building, child-friendly cities and start-up companies. Bandung Mayor Yana Mulyana said he was grateful and hoped that this collaboration would provide broad benefits.

“Hopefully the cooperation that we will establish will provide optimal benefits for the community, especially in the fields that we work on together,” said Yana.

The initial draft of the cooperation plan was previously signed by Bandung City administration and the City of Melbourne on May 10, 2019. It was then followed by the preparation of a Cooperation Plan or Term of Reference and a Plan of Action which describes the aims and objectives of the cooperation and the benefits to be achieved.
