Jakarta, IO – The Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM) has officially issued a recall notice on French-based Haagen-Dazs’s vanilla ice cream product from Indonesia.

According to its press released on Wednesday (20/7), the reason is related to the information received by the Indonesia Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (INRASFF) on July 8 from the European Union Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (EURASFF) regarding the discovery of Ethylene Oxide (EtO) which exceeded the limits permitted by the European Union (EU).

“BPOM has instructed importers to withdraw two Haagen-Dazs vanilla-flavoured ice cream products from circulation and expand the recall to other types of packaging, namely bulk can (9.46L),” BPOM said in a statement.

Furthermore, it will oversee and ensures that the withdrawal and/or temporary suspension of the circulation/sale of the product as stated in the attachment is carried out in accordance with applicable procedures.
