Timor Leste President Ramos Horta visits PBNU

Jakarta, IO – Timor Leste President Jose Ramos Horta visited the Nahdlatul Ulama Central Board (PBNU) in Jakarta, Wednesday (20/7).

He was welcomed directly by the PBNU chairman KH Yahya Cholil Staquf, popularly known as Gus Yahya, and PBNU secretary general Saifullah Yusuf.

President Ramos Horta arrived at PBNU on 164 Kramat Raya St., Central Jakarta, at around 09.05 WIB wearing a brown batik suit.

He then held a closed-door meeting, the outcome of which will be communicated to journalists at a press conference.

The day before, President Ramos Horta met President Joko Widodo at the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java. He was greeted with a series of official welcoming ceremonies.

These include the singing of national anthems of the two countries and 21-gun salute. Then, the leaders of the two countries introduced their respective delegations and planted a tree. (rr)
