According to Widodo, the Chinese citizens hold a Limited Stay Work Visa, which prohibit the holder from conducting any political activity in Indonesia. They are deemed to have violated immigration rules because they carry out activities not in accordance with the stay permit they have.

“Immigration violations apply to those who carry out activities that are inappropriate or violate their stay permit and carry out provocative actions inviting demonstrations at the G20 event. I have ordered the Director of Wasdakim to act decisively and remain humane and take measures in accordance with statutory provisions and to coordinate with related ministries/agencies and representatives,” said Widodo Ekatjahjana.
