2 Chinese nationals deported from Bali on allegation of trying to disrupt G20

Jakarta, IO – Two Chinese citizens, identified as HCC and YX, were detained by the Directorate General of Immigration in Jakarta, Friday (11/11), for allegedly planning to demonstrate against the G20 Summit in Bali.

“I have received reports from the Director of Intelligence and the Director of Monitoring and Enforcement (Wasdakim), that there were two Chinese citizens who were planning to hold a demonstration during the G20,” said Acting Director General of Immigration Widodo Ekatjahjan, reported Kompas, Tuesday (15/11).

Widodo said based on evidence seized they sought to provoke the masses against the G20 Summit.

“I immediately ordered that anticipatory steps be taken for security and inspections were carried out in accordance with statutory provisions, as well as immediately coordinating with the Chinese Embassy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,” said Widodo.
