Jakarta, IO – Raihanun Rinjani Pratomo successfully climbed Mount Rinjani at the age of 10. She revealed that her passion to climb the second highest mountain in Indonesia was inspired by his own name.

“I know the name of Mount Rinjani because my mother also told me the meaning of my name,” said the girl affectionately called Hanun, per Sindonews, Tuesday (14/8).

Hanun is a grade 5 student at SD Cikal Serpong. She managed to climb and reach the top of Mount Rinjani during the school holidays in June.
Hanun said that since she was a child she had always enjoyed outdoor activities such as hiking, skateboarding, snorkeling and diving.

To reach the top of the mountain, Hanun and her parents prepared physically and mentally for 3-4 months. For physical preparation, Hanun practiced swimming to play basketball.

Hanun’s trip with her parents was accompanied by a guide and porter from the Mount Rinjani National Park. They started their journey early in the morning to the camp site, which took them dozens of hours through four checkpoints. Hanun’s persistence finally paid off. She arrived at the summit at 4pm.
