Jakarta, IO – PT Krakatau Sarana Properti (KSP) is trying to preserve Banten culture by rebranding and renovating Resto Banten Bistro to become The Kaibon. President Director of PT Krakatau Sarana Properti Iip Arief Budiman said, The Kaibon is the name of one of the palaces in Serang City, Banten.

“The name Kaibon itself comes from the word ka-ibu-an, which in ancient times the Kaibon palace itself was a residence intended for Sultan Syafiudin’s mother to “motherly.” This is a term that describes a child’s love for his mother. Behind this name, there is a deep meaning hidden, which guides the concept and taste in our Restaurant. “We hope that the presence of The Kaibon will also contribute not only from the KSP business side, but also increase tourism in Cilegon City with the existence of a culinary place with the theme of Banten Palace Culture,” said Iip Arief Budiman in a written statement, Tuesday (10/10/2023).

The Kaibon rebranding event was also attended directly by the President Director of PT Krakatau Steel Purwono Widodo along with other members of the Krakatau Steel Group Board of Directors. In his speech, Purwono Widodo also hoped that the presence of The Kaibon would support the Krakatau Steel Group’s non-steel business income like other subsidiaries.

“We all know that the KS Group business unit consists of steel and non-steel companies. We hope that The Kaibon can make a business contribution from the KS Group’s income, especially in non-steel KS companies. The presence of The Kaibon is also a concrete form of support for the Krakatau Steel group in advancing tourism in Cilegon, especially in the culinary sector and at the same time supporting the infrastructure of culinary places around the Krakatau Industrial Area. Apart from that, it is also in line with the policy of establishing the KS Group Subholding, it is hoped that KSP as a subsidiary of the KSI subholding company can further grow and develop with industrial growth, especially in Cilegon. ” said Purwono Widodo.

Meanwhile, General Manager of The Royale Krakatau Hotel Rury Ilham added, The Kaibon is not just a restaurant but is a celebration of the love and warmth felt when sitting around the table with family and friends. Rury said, The Kaibon is a place where a sense of togetherness and hospitality combines with the taste of extraordinary food.

“Rebranding to The Kaibon also introduces Banten culture more widely, as well as the mainstay menus that will later be offered which will become the pride of Cilegon City, some of which are special menus inspired by Banten’s culinary riches, with quality local ingredients,” explained Rury.

Rury added that PT Krakatau Sarana Properti is optimistic that The Kaibon will be accepted by the market. This optimism refers to the increasingly positive growth of the food and beverage industry nationally this year. Moreover, its location which is also close to the Cilegon Industrial Area makes it one of the supporting facilities for qualified dining and has the potential to attract potential guests and loyal customers.

The food and beverage (F&B) industry itself makes an important contribution to the national economy outside of non-oil and gas. In the first quarter of 2023, this industry will grow at 5.35% nationally.

Based on data from the Ministry of Industry, the F&B industry provides a positive value to the trade balance reaching a value of 11.48 billion US dollars. This industry itself is in the third most attractive investment position in Indonesia with an investment value of IDR 19.6 trillion capable of absorbing 5.7 million workers.

According to Rury, the interior of The Kaibon is divided into three zones which remain integrated (private/semi private, cozy dining and golf view (out door) in a harmony of ambience and color tone because the inside and outside space is still available for one big activity which remains connected . The Kaibon will continue to maximize service and comfort for guests for a new experience.

A number of menus that you can enjoy at The Kaibon include:

  • Seafood Noodle Kuantan Soup (Nyonya Laksa). It’s a thick, rich soup with coconut milk, spices, and tender bits of seafood and shrimp. The spicy and savory taste will pamper your taste buds, reminding you of your culinary journey in Indonesia.
  • Peranakan Fried Rice: A Million Flavors in One Serving of Rice. This is fried rice inspired by Peranakan cuisine, which is famous for its blend of spices, prawns and aromatic herbs. Every bite will take you on an unforgettable taste journey, combining sweet, spicy and savory in one plate.
  • Sate Buntel: A typical Javanese dish made from beef wrapped in a layer of goat’s stomach fat and then grilled with special spices. The result is tender, intensely flavored satay that melts in your mouth. This is an authentic Indonesian taste that we want to present to culinary lovers.

“After The Surosowan Restaurant and the presence of The Suro Pizza which is increasingly popular with the people of Cilegon City and its surroundings, we hope that the presence of The Kaibon will become an alternative culinary place with a warm atmosphere and can pamper our guests with a variety of the best and delicious menu variants,” concluded Rury.
