Jakarta, IO – Finance Minister Sri Mulyani assured that Indonesia would not suffer the same fate as Sri Lanka. According to her, Indonesia’s economy is strong and can withstand bankruptcy.
“The whole world is facing geopolitical consequences in the form of rising food and energy prices which have pushed up inflation, which was already high during the pandemic,” Sri Mulyani said, as per Suara, Thursday (14/7).
Sri Mulyani said the economic crisis that hit Sri Lanka could not be separated from the country’s skyrocketing inflation, which got worse after they defaulted on their debt payments and running out of foreign exchange reserves.
Although many countries are also experiencing economic shocks, the mode of survival will vary from country to country.
